Experience I have been involved with and around horses for a little over 25 years. I graduated from Michigan State University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in animal science, with a specialization in agri-business management. I grew up riding and showing class A Arabians, and have expanded since then to the breeds I work with. From a well-balanced, sure footed trail horse to an open show competition. I train the horses to be confident not only in their performance, but to have confidence in their rider as well. My goal is to train both horse and rider to be a successful team.
I have been giving lessons to people of all ages for 17 years now. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and sharing my love of horses with others. My goals in riding lessons are to create a confident, well-balanced, effective rider. To develop a set of skills that will enable the rider to be well equipped for whatever may come. In my lessons I teach equitation with a very unique balance of horsemanship.
Rehabilitation I have been involved in caring for sports medicine rehabilitation horses since 2011, and handle everything from administering simple medications, to extensive wound care and bandaging, to just a horse in need of some quiet rest and relaxation. Handwalking and handicap paddocks are available. Our rehabs are groomed twice a week and handwalked twice a day or more as needed. I jokingly tell our clients that I am perfect for the rehabilitation job as it puts my OCD to good use.
My overall goal in caring for your horse is to keep them healthy, happy, and safe. We treat all horses as if they are our own. I am always available and am very easy to speak with. For more information, please contact me.
